Saved By the Barbell! September 1st 9am to 11am

Join CrossFit HCS, CrossFit HQ, and the CrossFit Foundation, on September 1, 2018 to help build the life-saving culture of CrossFit for Kids in our schools, our parks, our neighborhoods, our communities. With your help, we can put the kids who need it most on a path to life-long health. That’s what Saved by the Barbell is all about.

We are super excited to be one of many CrossFit boxes hosting this event as it directly aligns with our local Fit Day initiatives within Ferndale & surrounding Public Schools, after-school programs and CrossFit Kids classes & camp. This event is open to all fitness levels and abilities of all ages, we also welcome anyone to stop by and cheer on the athletes. We will also be having a used equipment drive to provide for our own kids programs at the gym and in local schools! 😁Old jump ropes? Hula hoops galore? Way too many soccer balls? Grown to strong for those 2lb weights? We’ll take them!

Proceeds from the workout will support the development and growth of CrossFit programs for kids in schools, recreation centers, and communities everywhere. Your efforts will fund training for teachers, put new equipment in schools, and support the health and fitness of thousands of children.

Healthy Community Shindig

We are showcasing a variety of local healthly life services to the community in a fun and interactive day. Come out for community friendly workouts, games, nutrition talks, running mechanics, and more. Help support our Fitness Days and after-school programs at Ferndale Early Childhood Center, Ferndale Upper & Lower Elementary Schools, and Mound Park Elementary by purchasing merchandise or joining the CrossFit HCS Kru!
This event is also kicking off our string of Fitness Days at local area schools throughout the month of December. The purpose of our school programs is to teach good movement and mechanics from childhood and beyond. We believe this is critical in sports performance and reducing injury, as well as cognitive function which improves academic performance. This program is designed to be FUN while getting kids active and playing.
Our Program is designed by our CrossFit Kids Director, Coach Chrissy. She is a Michigan Registered Teacher and has been coaching CrossFit since 2012. Her combined passions for elementary school teaching and fitness has lead to her love of all things CrossFit Kids.
